We had a pretty good weekend and then I woke up this morning to find that
Ellie & Jake’s Pumpkins had been stolen. I am in disbelief that someone
would actually come on our front porch and take my kids pumpkins. The only
thing I can think of is it had to be teenagers. This past summer’s our sandbags
were constantly stolen in front of our house and that was annoying, but that is
nothing compared to stealing my kids pumpkins.
Dave and I had a discussion of what we can do to stop these constant little
things from being stolen. He suggested putting a survalence camera in. My
suggestion was put a big banner sign in my front yard with a picture of my
daughter that says really you are going to steal from a 7 year old that has
cancer. I don’t think either one is the answer but still not sure what the
My kids were devastated when they found out her pumpkin were gone. Dave and
I calmed them down with a solution. We are going to be taking the kids to a
pumpkin patch this weekend so they can pick out there own pumpkins. But still
it’s not so much the value of the pumpkin but the feeling in my stomach when
someone takes something from you. It seems even more hurtful when it is not of
that much value because it’s more of someone being just plan mean. Oh well we
will move forward but not sure how to stop this from continually happening.
Oh yeah and my kids fish died that they got at a carnival. My kids both have
Beta’s which I have found after having them for over two years it’s pretty hard
to kill them. But then we won gold fish at a fall fest a few weeks back and
Ellie just kept on winning them. Well Sunday night we walked into Jakes room to
find all 8 of them floating at the top of the tank. Although this was hard for
our kids Dave and I were pretty excited to see them go. We now have two
frogs (did I mention they are hard to kill too, jk), two beta fish(in two
tanks), and a dog. I think we are good on animals for a while.
Anyhow back to Ellie, she is doing fantastic. The only problem I have been
having is crying that she doesn’t want to go to school. Not sure what has been
happening or if it’s just she had that long break from her school due to her
surgery and just can’t get herself back in the groove of things. Oh well we
will truck on forward as always. She did say she wanted a day off. I told her,
she just had two days off for the weekend, and she will get another one on
Wednesday. Little does she know it’s for Chemotherapy, maybe after that day she
will be begging to go back to school?
For now I am going to have to station my neighborhood watch dog Jake on
the case, just kidding.
A mother with a battle ahead of her.
